League Etiquette Expectations
-
Before continuing, if you want a bit more detail. Just visit this website. I basically copied and pasted the etiquette from this website as a guideline for most of my leagues for etiquette expectations. (https://dynastyleaguefootball.com/2012/09/01/dynasty-league-etiquette/)
-
Rule 1: Be Careful With the Trash Talking
- Trash talking, especially when it is done right, can be a whole lot of fun and a vital part of some leagues; however, it does have a time and a place. If you are in a new league with people you don’t know, you need to be very careful with the trash talking and feel out of the league a little bit first. This is especially true if you are the only one doing it. If you aren’t getting any responses from people, it is very likely that everyone is thinking that you’re just a huge jerk, not someone that is trying to have a little fun with trash talking. Once things get going and you get a feel for the league let the trash talking commence.
-
Rule 2: Don’t Be “That Guy”
- “That guy” is the one who is always sending out the lowball offers trying to rip people off with the page long emails telling them why it is a huge favor that he is offering this deal. When it gets turned down, “that guy” often gets nasty and sends a rather hostile email back, makes little comments in league chat, or might even post something berating on the league message boards about the deal. These are also the guys that tend to have very unrealistic views of their players. Players are suddenly worth more just because they are on their roster filled with four RB1s and six WR1s, even though every website you can find has their players ranked in the 10-30 range on their positional rankings.
- They are also “that guy” who tries to tell everyone how they should be running their team. Unfortunately, “that guy” often does pretty well in leagues because he manages to complete one or two of those lopsided trades before the reputation catches up with them and all of the bridges are burned. Otherwise, they are the ones who prey on the new owners in the league before they completely understand the dynasty concept, stealing the one good piece they had in exchange for six pieces of trash or aging players. They take their success as a justification for their terrible behavior, not realizing that they are the scourge of the league, that the other owners talk about him, and that he just might be the biggest problem in general.
-
Rule 3: Respond to Other Owners
- If you set your lineups each week, there aren’t a whole lot of other things you need to do. If you like your team, you don’t need to trade or make claims. You don’t need to be posting on the message boards or in the chat. However, you do need to respond to direct communication from other owners in a timely manner. Sure, things happen from time to time like emergencies and vacations, but if you can’t check the website or can’t be troubled to check your email at least every other day, you need to re-evaluate your choice to be in a dynasty league. If you need more time to think about a trade, just tell them that so they aren’t left twisting in the wind. There is nothing worse than not hearing a peep about a trade offer that was sent out.
-
Rule 4: Don’t get offended and insulted
- Getting offended or insulted and throwing a little temper tantrum isn’t going to help anything. In fact, if you do it publicly, it just might make you look like the jerk. It is always best to reply with a simple, “No thank you. This deal isn’t close to what I’m looking for” and be done with it. Throwing a counter offer that is even worse back at them just throws more fuel on the fire and could burn a bridge. One “bad” offer isn’t grounds for a freak out or you refusing to speak with someone.
-
Rule 5: Follow the Deadlines
- Let’s keep this simple
- Pay your League Fees On Time
- Make Your Roster Cuts On Time
- Vote On A Rule Change On Time
- Just follow the deadlines period.
- Let’s keep this simple
-
Rule 6: Support the Decisions of the League
- Very few leagues keep the exact same rules from year to year. Most leagues have some kind of discussion and change to rules as time goes and hopefully those are decided as a league and not just by the will of the Commissioner. Regardless of who makes the changes, you aren’t always going to be on the winning side of things. Once those discussions end and the change is or isn’t made, you need to drop it until the following year when the rule changes are discussed again. Don’t keep bringing up the rule week after week, keep making comments to those on the other side of the fence, or turn into a malcontent. There is a time and place for everything
-
Rule 7: Be Gracious in Victory and Defeat
- This is something that every kid should learn before the age of eight, but we often forget when we become adults. No one likes a sore loser or a sore winner. The guy who mopes around or talks about quitting just because they finish last or lose a game by one point isn’t going to win many friends – neither is the guy who signs every bulletin board post with “Five time back to back champion.” Luck can change very quickly in fantasy football and a little humility goes a long way.
-
Rule 8: Always Give Your Best Effort
- We all make mistakes and we all have bad luck from time to time. That might mean that you end up towards the bottom of the league. Even if you are near the bottom of the league it is never okay for you to tank a few games to shoot for the first pick or for a better waiver wire claim. Tanking in a dynasty league is ten times worse than in a redraft league because not only does it mess up the payouts and playoffs for that year, but it messes with the draft order. That draft order in turn impacts the league for years to come. Always try your best to win with what you have on hand. Please note if you are not setting your optimal lineup within reason. Leaguemates will be issued a warning on the first offense followed by draft pick penalties as a result for repeat offenders.

Taxi Squads Rules
- Taxi Squad Size: 10 Spots (Sleeper’s maximum # of taxi slots)
- Taxi squads will function as the “practice squad” for your team. The one caveat is only rookies are eligible to be assigned to the Taxi Squad. Sleeper will automatically ACTIVATE your Taxi Squad Member after 2 years of being placed on the Taxi Squad.
- Team Owners must assign desired rookies onto Taxi Squad before Regular Season begins (First NFL Game Kickoff).
- Team Owners can only assign rookies to their taxi squad. This means once a rookie is activated from Taxi to Active roster. The rookie can not be reassigned back to the Taxi squad even AFTER TRADE (technically becomes an active roster from that point on)
- Taxi Squad Assignment phase of the season will always be active for new additions to the taxi squads immediately after the draft until the first NFL Game Kickoff.
- If you have a full roster, you will not be able to activate a rookie from a taxi squad unless you drop a bench player or active player. If you have 24 players out of 25 players on your roster, you may activate a rookie from the taxi squad to your active season roster. If you drafted 4 rookies, you can place all 4 of them to your taxi squad which will allow you to pick up 4 extra waiver guys because those 4 rookies are on the taxi squad not your active roster.
-
Waiver Wire
- When in off season, waivers will clear daily two days after rookie draft ends.
- When NFL kickoff occurs, waivers will go back to weekly clear on Wednesday at 3 AM EST.
- Use your FAAB Wisely.
- $0 Minimum Bids are allowed
- $100 Budget Added At The Beginning of Every In-Season
- You may trade FAAB money if you would like.
- Budget will be wiped on Fantasy Football Championship Day.
-
-
Trading
-
No Trade Approval Process
- Trades will only be brought up to be called for a veto if suspected of collusion.
-
FAAB currency may be used as a trade asset while in-season.
-
No Trade Deadline
-
Future Draft Picks
- In order to trade away your future draft picks, you must prepay for the corresponding year in advance. Team owners will be allowed 48 hours to complete the trade transaction prior to trade being reversed. If in season, Payment must be completed prior to the NFL first weekly matchup otherwise it will be reversed. If you have any issues with payments, please notify me. I will be flexible if it’s within a reasonable timeframe overall
- For example, I want to trade away my 2026 draft picks. I would need to prepay for 2026’s league fee which would be $250.

- 2025 Draft Date : April 29th, 2025
- Draft will only start based on the following conditions
-
Draft Timer
- There will be a 4 hour draft timer for every pick. Be already proactive with your trade discussions for us to complete the draft within a reasonable timeframe. -
-

- Immediately after the end of the draft, Free Agents on Waivers will be allowed to be acquired.
- In an event of an accidental or unintentional team activity (i.e. dropped a player on waiver by accident or child obtained phone and dropped a player on waivers), we will give the team owner a warning followed by a penalty for first or any following offense. - League Conduct
- All owners will treat other owners with respect. They will refrain from any comments that are rude, aggressive, sexist, racist, etc. While the commissioner will try to resolve all disputes, there is a zero tolerance policy for abusive behavior.
- Owner’s may make side bets if they so choose involving the league. However, they may not include any league assets in these side bets. This includes players, draft picks or FAAB.
- Owner’s may not trade non-league assets (such as money) as part of a trade.
- If an owner fails to comply with this Article it constitutes grounds for removal at the commissioner’s discretion.
- Orphan Policy
- If you decide to abandon this league, you are agreeing to the following:
- You will attempt to find a replacement for your own team. If unable to fill, the league will attempt to assist.
- You forfeit 50% of your future year league due fees if paid already via LeagueSafe or other payment method. This will be used to either discount entry fee for the replacement owner or add into the progressive pot.
- If a single team is orphaned then the commissioner will find a replacement owner. If the existing owner suggests someone, the proposed owner must be approved by the commissioner.
- If multiple teams are orphaned new owners will be selected and will engage in a dispersal draft of all assets owned by the orphaned teams. Any players that were currently on taxi squads will go to the taxi squad of the new owner.
- New Owners will not be required to pay any dues that were already paid. If, in the case of multiple orphans, one team has paid and another hasn’t, the remaining fee will be split between the 2 teams. (IE: Team 1 Paid for 2023, Team 2 has not. If they both leave, the incoming owners would be required to each pay ½ the buy in.)
- If a team has paid more than 1 year in advance because they traded picks, the paid league fee and untouched picks become draftable in the dispersal.
- Example - Team A has paid dues for 2023 and 2024 because he traded his 1st in 2023
- Team B has paid for 2022 but has not paid for 2023 and has all his 2023 picks. Team A & Team B decide to leave the league. During the dispersal draft, Team A’s full allotment of picks and Team B’s full allotment of picks will be available to draft as a set. If you select team A’s allotment of picks, you will be missing the picks he traded but you have the full season paid for already.
- If a team has paid more than 1 year in advance because they traded picks, the paid league fee and untouched picks become draftable in the dispersal.
- If you decide to abandon this league, you are agreeing to the following:
